Sunday Funday: Chinatown and Little Italy

**disclaimer: this was my first attempt at shooting, directing and editing a travel vlog so please be gentle with your criticism*. thank you!*

The weather might be gray and gloomy but that didn't hinder the adventurer in me. Deciding to not let laziness get the best of me I decided to take a trip into NYC and explore with a different set of eyes. Being from Jersey I had a 15-minute commute into one of the most famous cities in the world. If I can be honest I've never really taken full advantage of how close I am to what can be wildly considered the cultural epicenter of the United States. And it was right in my back yard! So I pulled out one of my favorite books: National Geographic’s NYC Walking Tour Guides, closed my eyes, picked a page and took the dive.

Some of the days’ highlights include haggling goods on Canal Street, stopping at The World Famous Ferrara Italian Restaurant for some delicious gelato in Little Italy. Walking through a little Italian museum, then heading over to Chinatown to find Durian Fruit (which luckily was a success although actually eating it was an epic taste fail), taking the subway uptown to 14th Street for Dumplings and Bubble Tea at Vanessa’s Dumplings. I was even able to catch a unique street performance in Union Square Park

For it being an impromptu day trip, I think Sunday Funday was a well spent with Danny. Spending less than $50 for the entire trip also didn’t hurt either!

The rucksack (on the top) was successfully haggled down to $35 on Canal St. (Actually, I didn’t haggle the price down. LOL. I’m soo bad at it!)

This wine box (on the bottom) holds 6 bottles of wine. Danny brought it back for me from his business trip in Atlanta,Ga.
